Help Wanted: Lead Reindeer
I found this awesome art and writing activity at What the Teacher Wants! I am excited about this and so are the kids. I took their pictures while they were working on another project and this week we will be putting it all together and filling out our applications. I can’t wait to see what they write and share with you!
I Hope Y’all Have a Funky Monkey Friday!

Fine Motor Skillz Bracelets
Oh yeah, that’s skills with a Z!!!
So I noticed that many of my Kinders were having some trouble with writing their names and it wasn’t that they didn’t know the letters but more that those sweet little hands couldn’t control their pencil or crayon. So we started practicing some fine motor skills. I found some great ideas at Hands On As We Grow. We practiced tracing lines, tracing our names, writing our names on our own, sorting beads, and stringing those beads onto pipe cleaners for some beautiful bracelets. We had so much fun it almost makes me want to be a Kindergarten teacher!
SCARY!
Fancy Felines
I saw this cute project on Artsonia and thought it would be a nice way to cheer up these dreary January days. It was a great review of shapes and lines and I love Laurel Burch’s story. Today we discussed the artist and started the project by drawing the cat with sharpie. No pencils or erasers allowed! Then we colored them in with bright colored crayons. Next week we will practice some cutting skills by cutting them out and gluing them to a background. I’ll share more then!
TADA!!!
All done and so cute!
