Clowning Around With Kindergarten

Standard

My Kindergarteners created these beautiful clowns awhile back and I keep forgetting to post them.  They all did such a great job and they loved creating names and little personalities for them.  We started by tracing a circle (lids) and then progressed with a directed drawing.  I gave them suggestions but also encouraged them to come up with their own ideas.  When we finished drawing, we started coloring and I asked them to choose a different color for each part of their clown, trying to make them as bright and colorful as possible.  We finished them off by coloring the background and adding the fun confetti!

Clowning Around With Kindergarten

Standard

Kindergarten recently went to the circus, which is always a bright, colorful, and inspiring field trip. When they returned, we discussed their favorite parts and the funniest parts. Clowns are always listed and we use them as the subjects for this lesson in portraits. We draw, step by step, with sharpies, the clowns. Then we paint them!
